Dentists4kids.com has a team of experts that has spent over 10 years researching and
testing different aspects of the algorithms search engines use to scour
the Internet.
When we design our websites, we use customized tools to analyze your pages and
ensure they are fully optimized, and we employ only legitimate, accepted
techniques. In our designs and
recommendations, we strive to strike a balance between pages that look
good to search engines and pages that look good to your patients.
Keywords and Their Importance
Since there are thousands of keywords relevant to
pediatric dentistry, it becomes important to know the keywords and
phrases that are most commonly used.
Since Dentists4kids.com designs sites exclusively for pediatric
dentists, we have more experience with relevant keywords than any other
SEO (search engine optimization) company or web developer in the
industry.
Dentists4kids.com can optimize the most important
keywords in an effective manner.
For instance we know from viewing the statistic reports from our
pediatric websites that the keyword phrase “pediatric dentist” and then
a city and state abbreviation (Ex:
pediatric dentist
Keywords are optimized two ways. First in the metatags of your site (read “What are Metatags” below) and then secondly in the written content of your website. Dentists4kids.com can provide the content you need, optimized for the keywords you're targeting.
Frequently
Asked Questions
What
does search engine optimization (SEO) mean?
Wikipedia provides the following definition for search
engine optimization:
“The
process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a
web site from
search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic")
search results for targeted
keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the
Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS) or the higher it "ranks", the more
searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of
searches, including
image search,
local search, and industry-specific
vertical search engines.
As a
marketing strategy for increasing a site's relevance, SEO
considers how search
algorithms work and what people search for. SEO efforts may
involve a site's coding, presentation, and structure, as well as fixing
problems that could prevent
search engine indexing programs from fully
spidering a site.”
What
SEO (search engine optimization) does Dentists4kids.com provide?
When designing our websites, Dentists4kids.com
optimizes each site above and beyond industry standards.
As specialists in pediatric dental websites, we know what
specific coding and content is needed to get the best results possible.
You’ll see more of our sites at the top of the search engines
than any other dental web designer.
For example, go to
www.google.com and type in “pediatric dentist
What
are Spiders, Robots & Crawlers?
Many search engines use programs called spiders (also
referred to as robots or crawlers) to index web sites. Spiders follow
hyperlinks and gather textual and meta information for use in the search
engine databases. Spiders may also rate the content being indexed to
help the search engine determine relevancy levels to a search.
What
are Metatags?
Metatags are codes embedded into web pages that are
used by search engines to store information about your website.
The standard tags are the Title, Description and Keywords.
You can’t see them, but the search engine spiders can.
Creating the proper metatags is extremely important for
successful SEO. Again,
Dentists4kids.com’s team are experts in which metatags provide the best
results.
My
site is new, but I’m not showing up on the search engines yet, what’s
wrong?
Don’t expect immediate results.
Please allow up to 3 months for the search engine spiders to see
the importance and relevance of your website.
Should
we submit our website to the major search engines?
Some web designers or SEO companies will tell you it’s
necessary to submit your site to the major search engines, usually for a
fee. Dentists4kids.com has
found that (with the modern techniques we use) the spiders have
usually found our sites before we have time to submit them.
Will
placing reciprocal links on my site help improve my search rankings?
Reciprocal links are arranged when two web sites agree
to link to each other. Some
SEO companies recommend placing as many reciprocal links (also referred
to as “link exchanges”, “link partners” and “link swaps”) on your site
as possible, stating that search spiders can be lead to your site
through other sites.
Dentists4kids.com’s opinion is that this technique is beneficial for
most business websites, but doesn’t offer substantial advantages for
pediatric dental websites.
We feel it dilutes your site and takes away from the message you are
trying to get across to your site visitors if they are linking off to
other sites. We do
recommend; however, to have as many sites link to your site as
possible. (See “A Free Tip”
below.)
At
what point should I pay for sponsored listings?
If after 4 months you’re not seeing the results that
you want when typing in your city and the words “pediatric dentist”, or
if you want to be found under other keywords, please consult us first.
Some times there may be a little bit more “tweaking” that we can
do. If that still doesn’t
work, then you might consider setting up a sponsored listing campaign on
your favorite search engine.
Google is the search engine that we recommend advertising on at the
current time, as they are used over 75% of the time for searching the
Internet. If you aren’t the
“Internet Savvy” type and would prefer that someone else set up a
sponsored campaign for you, contact us and we will put you in touch with
a Google Certified AdWords Consultant.
A Free
Tip
Before you consider paying for sponsored listings, be sure to set up a free listing on Google Map that will link to your website. To do so, go to www.Google.com, click on the “Business Solutions” link at the bottom of the page, then click on "Local Business Center" to read all about Google maps and to get started.
Another good idea is to do a search using your city
and “pediatric dentist” and see if there are any directory sites that
show up where you could place a free listing for your practice.
If you find the directory to be relevant, you might even consider
paying to enhance your listing if they offer a link to your site and a
money back guarantee or a short term contract.
What
can I do to help increase my placement on the search engines?
There are three things that you can do to help boost your site’s rankings:
-
Drive as much traffic as you can to your site. Most search engines such as Google, as part of their algorithm, consider the popularity of your site when ranking it. Be sure that your staff mentions your website to all of your patients or potential patients that call or visit your office. Incorporate your web address into all of your internal and external marketing materials.
-
Add more of the critical, relevant keywords in your written text.
-
Provide Dentists4kids.com with a list of the cities and counties (or words that you think people in your area may use to find you), and we will add them to the metatags in your site.
